Knulp: Three Tales from the Life of Knulp by Hermann Hesse
Similar to Knulp himself, this book brings happiness, joy in simplicity, and a reminder of life.
A reminder of the freedom within us all when we don’t think too much about what others expect of us, but just release ourselves and be.
That’s not to say there is any right or wrong way, and none is presented as such here – difficulties must be expected along any path we take – but the poignancy and humour with which the tragic folly of conformity is given life is sweetly done.
We are our choices; others are theirs; and there’s little to be gained being resentful of either 🙂
